Our Schools team has adapted delivery to provide live online sessions via Facebook and YouTube for the general public as well as providing live sessions for schools upon request. These sessions include PE fundamental skills, Maths and Dance to help provide something for everybody! Live lessons have been inclusive, open for anyone to be a part of and have featured players as special guests. Resources have also been created through Shrews @ Home for a range of different skills including learning French, cooking skills and fitness challenges.

Education + Learning

Our BTEC Team are taking part in a weekly fitness session to keep students healthy, active, and engaged with their team-mates. Student interviews are currently being held via conference calls in order to try and bring them into our community and give them updates on the start of the course.

Foundation Degree students have been completing their studies with future student interviews also being held remotely, providing them with information about the start of the course and giving them a taste of what to expect during their studies with us.

Our Future Generation sessions have been taking place twice in a week via conference call, allowing young people to stay part of the community and challenge them with arts and crafts sessions and quizzes!

Health + Wellbeing

As many members of our Extra-Time community are part of the high-risk group we have been making weekly phone calls and mailouts to all participants to check in with them and make sure they are provided with the necessary support. This is in addition to our Extra-Time Hubs moving online to take place by a conference call, giving participants the next best thing to a Coffee Morning every Thursday and Tuesday! Our Extra-Time members page on Facebook is also regularly being updated with new exercises and activities for them to complete along with providing another platform for members to stay in contact.

We have also set up a new group on Facebook to allow our Head's Up members to stay in contact and will be hosting a live-streamed event, taking questions from the public with mental health professional Kay Brophy as well as speaking to Shrewsbury Town mental health champion, Omar Beckles about his experiences.

Inclusive Sport

Our Inclusive Sport team have moved to remote delivery via our online Shrews @ Home platform and Zoom. This has meant that as well as providing resources and activities for our ShrewsAbility participants to complete at home, our coaches are also running weekly live sessions available to stream via our YouTube and Facebook pages to allow all to take part. These sessions allow for interaction between the coach and participants, allowing the coach to provide feedback and tailor activities accordingly.

For PL Kicks participants we are now hosting two private video calls a week acting as a youth club for participants. These have included chats with Shrewsbury Town players and provide a social hour for participants to catch up with their friends and stay part of our community.

We also launched our PL Kicks Engagement Bingo to help keep young people busy and engaged with us and their peers, providing them with an outlet along with the opportunity to win some fantastic prizes!

Football Development

Our Football Development teams are being supported with a range of homework being sent out to keep their skills sharp. Ball Mastery sessions are being streamed live to Facebook and YouTube with players being invited in to broadcasts to receive feedback and tips, with sessions featuring Shrewsbury Town first-team players taking part with their families and offering their own top-tips.

Players have also been invited to take part our Fitness Friday sessions to make sure they keep healthy and active and stay connected to the rest of the group.

Our Challenge and Fundraising events have been postponed until further notice. We are hoping to release details of new dates soon but want to make sure that it is absolutely safe to do so first. We will be looking at other fundraising options in the meantime with a range of new ideas. If there is anyone who would like to hold a fundraiser for us during this time please do get in contact.

In line with the national programme, our NCS delivery this year has gone digital! Along with creating a brand new digital delivery programme for the summer, the NCS hub has also been launched allowing young people to stay connected with tips on staying healthy, how to keep in touch with friends and a series of challenges and ways you can help your local community at this time. More details on what our summer NCS delivery will look like will be coming soon!
