Dreams today can become reality tomorrow.

In 2021 Shrewsbury Town in the Community will undergo the build of a brand new facility; replacing the current Reech Community Hub, located in the shadows of the Montgomery Waters Meadow.

Following a public consultation and the release of detailed proposals from Baart Harries Newall architects permission has been secured for the exciting new build.

The ‘Community Hub’ will be a purpose-built facility in the shadows of the Montgomery Waters Meadow Football Stadium. Situated behind the south stand of the stadium the facility will have fantastic indoor and outdoor facilities for many grassroots clubs, sports groups and local organisations as well as being the home of Shrewsbury Town in the Community.

Our vision

Our vision is to replace the current modular building and grass pitch to provide an inspiring building and full size floodlit artificial pitch that will assist our mission which is, to utilise the power of sport to engage, inspire and strengthen our local community.

The Community Hub will be a venue where academic achievement, sports training, social interaction and community cohesion all go hand in hand, creating a vibrant and inclusive environment. We will offer outstanding affordable facilities for sport, health and well-being and education.

We will welcome people of all abilities and encourage participation in physical activity through our diverse programme of community activities. The venue will be suitable for all types of community events, private bookings, team meetings and educational courses.

It is imperative that the building provides income through gym membership and classes and capitalises on the general public from pitch bookings and matchdays. Income received from the ‘Fitness Zone’ will be a vehicle of making our ‘health strand’ sustainable away from project funding.
