Young people can gain vital life skills and improve ambitions, realise potential and achieve goals. The programme is also designed to create stronger and more cohesive communities, expanding opportunities for everyone involved.
The Shrewsbury Town Young Leaders programme is aimed at 16 – 17 year olds who have a passion for working within the local community, and are interested in pursuing an exciting career in sport, by offering volunteering opportunities within an active sporting charity.
The Young Leaders programme is a 2-week intensive programme, giving a glimpse into the daily life of a proactive and thriving charity. Each younger leader will get to experience a plethora of different activities such football analysis, St Georges Park visit, football training with our football development team, team building, work experience and volunteering. They will also gain an insight into the management of STitC and complete hands-on activities within projects such as extra time, marketing & events and soccer schools. Each Young Leader will also be mentored by an STitC staff member who will deliver and provide support and training throughout the programme.
