Shrewsbury Town Foundation Hosts Black History Month Event for Partner Schools

This October, three partner schools were invited to the Croud Meadow as Shrewsbury Town Foundation delivered a Premier League Primary Stars Black History Month event.

St Edwards, Condover and Christchurch came along to the Arthur Rowley Suite to take part in a variety of educational sessions.

The pupils were first provided a case study to identify how the characters felt, how they should react and how they would stand together to support one another through discriminative behaviour.

For our second session we opened the doors to the stadium and stands for the children to explore and record the fact files of famous black professionals in sport.

Some special guests then joined the pupils as they went pitchside at the Croud Meadow to play some team games.

Shrewsbury Town first-team players Luca Hoole, Arkell Jude-Boyd and Kevin Berkoe became team captains as they attempted to guide their teams to victory.

Fantastic engagement, fantastic outcomes with a harmonious message of UNITY threaded throughout all who attended.
