On Thursday 1st July, 2 men attempt to sit on every seat in the stadium to raise awareness and funds for their trust

Ben and Andy set to the task, early in the morning, to try and sit on every seat in our stadium, 9875 seats in total. All this to help raise both awareness and funds for their trust to help with treatment for a Ben’s nephew, who has been diagnosed with MPS (Mucopolysaccharidosis). They spent all day going from one seat to the next, finally having someone sit in them after so long of being unable to be used.

MPS refers to a group of inherited conditions in which the body is unable to properly breakdown mucopolysaccharides (long chains of sugar molecules that are found throughout the body). As a result, these sugars buildup in cells, blood and connective tissue which can lead to a variety of health problems. As the condition progresses, it may affect appearance; physical abilities; organ and system functioning; and, in most cases, cognitive development. It is a serious condition that needs more awareness, so we hope to make more people aware and help Ben and Andy in their cause.

“The support from STFC has been incredible, not said no to anything, supported us in everything we wanted to do. Can’t thank them enough” – Ben Vale
