London Runners Raise £2084

Staff members past and present help to raise an incredible £2084 for Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation.

On the 7th April, five members of the team travelled to London to take part in the annual London Landmarks Half Marathon all to raise money for the foundation. The team, comprising of Andrew Price, Dave Mitchell, Isabelle Terry, Milly Wheeler and Tom Poole, collectively helped to raise £2084 for the charity through fundraising drives and bucket collections, which will go a long way in supporting the foundation’s delivery.

The challenge saw the team complete 13.1 miles in a course that took them through the heart of London, surrounded by iconic landmarks that make up the city’s skyline. All the way they were cheered on by the public, motivated by live music, and stayed hydrated with plenty of water! On average the team completed the event in 2 1/2 hours, which is an incredible achievement.

“I am immensely proud of the 5 members of current and previous staff who completed the London Landmarks Half Marathon. It was a great achievement and we raised some extra funds to help us to continue to deliver our fantastic projects in the community.”

– Tom Poole, Health & Wellbeing Manager

“Thoroughly amazing day with an incredible atmosphere. I’d do it all again!”

– Dave Mitchell, Community Facilities Officer
