Background:

Jamie was a professional footballer for Bristol City Football Club, and played semi-professionally in Australia. He has been a UEFA B License coach since 2007 and founded and managed a sports coaching company from 2005 – 2007.

Before joining Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation, he was Community Manager at Hereford United FC Between 2007 - 2014.

Steve Brotherwood

Operations Manager


Background:

Steve graduated from the University of Gloucestershire with an honours degree in Sports Development and Coaching and worked for Hereford United Community Trust for eight years, before joining Shrewsbury Town in the Community in October 2015.

Calvin Latham

Education & Learning Manager


Background:

Calvin joined the Foundation team back in 2018 as an NCS Coordinator, and has worked on over sixteen NCS programmes as well as taking part in NCS as a young person in 2012; he further went on to work in many charities working in employability and youth development, as well as completing his degree. Now the Education & Learning Project Manager, Calvin manages the National Citizen Service project, Premier League Kicks and our Alternative Provision. Calvin is also working along side his Partner School Officers to expand our base of partner schools and develop the Shrewsbury Town School concept.

Adam Jones

Education & Learning Manager (Primary)


Background:

Adam joined Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation in September 2018 after working for Virtual Learning UK as an assistant curriculum leader and has experienced working within various different community projects for Hereford United in the Community and Herefordshire Football Association.

Adam graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with a BSc Hons in Science and Football and Cardiff University with a PGCE in Sport. Adam also holds a FA Level 3 Goalkeeping and Outfield Coaching Qualification.

Adam works within South Shropshire delivering on the Premier League Primary Stars and Advanced Development Centre as a lead coach for the U12 and goalkeeping coach.

Jonny Hughes

Participation Manager


Background:

Jonny joined Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation in September 2019 after running his own sports coaching company in Shropshire for 7 years. Jonny is UEFA B qualified and has worked with academies at Shrewsbury Town and Stoke City Football Club. Jonny oversees projects that fall into the Primary age category such as school provision and holiday activities.

Steve Burnside

Facilities and Events Manager


Background:

Steve joined Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation in September 2019 after working in facility management roles in leisure centres, schools and gyms around Shrewsbury.

Steve studied a masters degree programme in Sports Strength and Conditioning at the University of Gloucestershire following his undergraduate degree in Sports and Exercise Sciences at Staffordshire University. Steve also holds various qualifications in sport including his FA Level 2, Level 3 Personal Trainer and Level 3 Sports Massage.

In January 2020 Steve combined his role of Facilities Manager with that of Events Manager, now splitting his time between both projects and focussing his efforts on raising money for the charity through challenge and fundraising events.

Tom Peevor

Coach Educator/Women's Team Manager


Background:

Tom has a passion for all things sport and enjoys using it to make a difference in the community. You can find him on his bike in the Shropshire hills or falling off his paddle board at the coast. After gaining qualified teacher status (QTS) he has pursued a career in developing people as a teacher, coach educator and mentor.

Anna Williams

NCS Manager


Background:

Anna joined Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation in the Summer of 2018 as an NCS Wave Lead during her second year at the University of Sheffield. Anna has since progressed to the role of NCS Coordinator and has seen the delivery of over 15 programmes in Shrewsbury and Cheshire as a young person and staff member. Anna takes her passion of youth development outside of the world of work by being an adult staff member at her local Air Cadet squadron.

Simon Tisdale

Education & Learning Manager (Primary)


Background:

Simon has 12 years experience within Primary Education, delivering PE curriculum as well as other core subjects.

His current duties as Premier League Primary Stars Coordinator includes delivering quality assurance and PE CPD to teachers, as well as a range of impactful programmes within primary schools using the Premier League and Foundation values to engage and inspire pupils.

His qualifications include: Level 5 PE specialism, Higher level TA status, FA level 2 football and currently on course to complete level 5 business management.

Kate Lindley

Health Activator


Background:

Kate graduated in 2011 from Northampton University with a degree in Dance and quickly moved to London to continue training and performing.

In 2012 she started her journey in the fitness industry and created a successful business teaching dance and fitness classes around the city. In 2018 Kate moved into the world of public health and turned her focus to providing exercise options for people with serious health conditions.

Specialising in fitness for older adults, Kate takes care of our Extra Time and Kick Cancer projects; but you may just catch her dancing with local school children whenever she gets chance.

Sophie Challinor

Health & Wellbeing Coordinator


Background:

After graduating from the University of Wales Institute Cardiff, Sophie was a cover teacher in the PE department of her old primary school, Bishops of Hereford Bluecoat School.

She then became an outdoor instructor, doing her training down in Cornwall. Having gained those qualifications she travelled to Greece and Tenerife, where she was a beach lifeguard and ran the water sports at the kids clubs.

She has started a family and done part time work for a while, and has now joined the Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation.

Alex Jones

Education Coordinator


Background:

Alex graduated from the University of Gloucestershire with a degree in Sports Development. After a number of years coaching football in the United States, he returned to the UK and started his role at Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation as a part-time member of staff and was made full time 6 months later and hasn't looked back since.

Mark Bull

Inclusive Sport Officer/ Business Development Officer


Background:

Mark joined Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation in August 2017 as a degree student and progressed into employment in January 2019 as an Inclusive Sports Officer. Since then, Mark has further progressed into a business development officer role in the early part of 2021.

Mark achieved a first-class honour in 2020 in Community Football Coaching and Development and is currently studying a master's degree in International Sports Management. Mark also holds and is working towards various qualifications in sport including his FA Level 2, Level 3 AFPE and Level 3 leadership and management qualification.

Vicky Martin

Business Administration


Background:

Vicky joined Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation in August as a Business Administrator Assistant and now works as the Customer Relations Officer. Her day to day roles include managing enquiries for the Charity and Football Hub, dealing with internal administration requests from staff, as well as being front of house working in our reception.

Harry Warren

Player Pathway Delivery Officer


Background:

Harry studied at Shrewsbury Academy, which is one of our partner schools, and is an ex student of the Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation BTEC and Degree programme. He is our longest serving member of staff and holds a UEFA B Licence. He is also a big football fan!

Helen Evans

NCS Coordinator


Background:

Helen joined the NCS team at Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation in October 2020. Helen has worked with various providers of NCS for over 6 years and has previously worked as an outdoor activity instructor, so has a wide range of experience working with young people. As an NCS Coordinator, Helen’s main roles include running PHSE sessions and building relationships in schools across Shropshire, as well as supporting in the NCS programme management. Helen is currently working towards her Level 5 Management and Operations apprenticeship.

Lee Thompson

Employability Coordinator


Background:

Lee has over 20 years experience working in a diverse range of roles in Football Coaching, Leisure Facilities and Health & Fitness. In more recent years Lee has moved into Further Education, delivering vocational qualifications, workplace training and Internal Quality Assurance.

Lee leads our Employability Education Programmes for participants who are upskilled and supported in preparation for their chosen career paths. Lee also coordinates the Kickstart Scheme for 30 newly create job roles. He supports the employees with a bespoke programme including employability skills development, wellbeing sessions, qualifications and CPD.

Sean McAllister

Player Pathway Coordinator


Background:

Sean played professionally for 13 years at Championship – League 2 level including promotion with Shrewsbury Town. He completed his B licence in 2014 and started coaching within the clubs academy 3 years ago which he continues to do whilst full-time with this role.

Neil Homer

Schools Delivery Officer (Primary)


Background:

Neil has a Humanities degree and a PGCE from Birmingham University. He has over 18 years experience in education and is a keen sportsman, who also loves watching any live sport.

Chris Lloyd

Player Pathway Coordinator (South)


Background:

Graduated Manchester metropolitan university with an honours degree in Coaching and Sport development. Working on Manchester Schools Team and coaching and Crewe Alexandra Ladies before joining Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation in 2019.

Matthew Griffiths

Community Coach - Primary


Background:

Matthew joined Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation in 2020 after graduating from the University of Worcester, with a degree in Primary Initial Teacher Education achieving qualified teacher status. In his final year of study, Matthew specialised in physical education and wrote his dissertation within the subject.

Matthew enjoys a wide range of sports and has a keen interest in the impact of physical education in the primary education setting. Whether that be a physical or mental effect.

Rhys Draycott

Video Producer


Background:

Rhys went to Shrewsbury College and studied creative media for 3 years, after which was travelling across the world filming many different projects for hundreds of different clients. Following this, Rhys decided to settle in a single position and joined our team. He has been incredible in his role in producing numerous high quality media for us over the years, and we hope to see him continue.

Reuben Dunne

Permanent Volunteer


Background:

Reuben Dunne started with us on NCS in 2017 and at the Gala Dinner that year he received an award for Participant of the Year and NCS graduate of the year.

Reuben is now working hard as a permanent volunteer at Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation!
