Southall School bring home the trophy at the Premier League Disability Football Festival!
On the 11th July, we joined Southall School at West Bromwich Albion for the Premier League’s Disability Festival Cup which saw 25 teams compete for the trophy, with Southall School representing the Shrewsbury Town FC and the foundation.
We are extremely proud of the students for not only representing STFC, but for also showing incredible passion, teamwork, and dedication, which made for an exciting day of matches against teams including Wolves, Stoke City, and West Brom.
To make the day even more memorable, the students brought home the trophy and were crowned Premier League Disability Festival champions! The team’s victory is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the power of inclusive sport.
Winning the Premier League Disability Festival Cup not only celebrates their hard work and talent, but also shines a light on the importance of providing meaningful opportunities for everyone to thrive on and off the pitch. This success epitomises the values of inclusivity that lie at the heart of football, and demonstrates just how powerful sport can be in uniting communities and empowering young people.
Opportunities like these allow participants to feel the pride of representing their local club, helping to build confidence, resilience, and lifelong memories.
Congratulations to all involved, you’ve done Southall School and Shrewsbury Town FC proud!
