Football Clubs have a duty to support the community that supports them.
Established in 1996, Shrewsbury Town in The Community is the official charity of Shrewsbury Town Football Club; we are the Clubs way of giving back. We utilise the power of sport to engage, inspire and strengthen our local community.
We have a fantastic and dedicated team that in partnership with like-minded organisation work with thousands of individuals to reach their potential and achieve their goals.
We are proud of our team and proud of what we do and by providing innovative and engaging sessions we aim to improve health and wellbeing, create better life chances and build stronger communities.
We are based at the Reech Community Hub at Montgomery Waters Meadow, placing us in the heart of the local community. Along with our main offices, the Hub also has its own classroom facilities, which hosts weekly sessions for our Further and Higher Education students. Outside we have a full-size astroturf pitch which is used by our young development teams, Shrewsbury Town Women's team and the local community.
The Community Football Hub can also be found on the site. Seven flood-lit artificial pitches are open to the public for hire as well as providing extra space for us to utilise for our own participants. Since opening in early 2019, we have seen an average of 1,600 individuals using the facility every week!
In South Shropshire we run Ludlow Football Stadium which acts as our main hub in the south of the county, allowing us to deliver our projects and host grass-roots teams in our annual Summer Cup, which attracted 65 teams from 7 different counties.
The most recent addition to our facilities is the Shropshire Homes Training and Media Centre which is a 1st class training facility based behind the South Stand of the Montgomery Waters Meadow.
