Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation is delighted to announce that we have been successful in our application to hold an FA Girls’ Emerging Talent Centre Licence from next season (22/23).
This 3-year licence will enable the Foundation to deliver the ETC (Emerging Talent Centre) programme, enhancing girls football provision in Shropshire until July 2025.
Designed to become a central hub for talented local female players, this programme will work in partnership with grassroot clubs, schools and locals coaches to increase the opportunities for female players and provide them with an elite training programme.
From next season, the Foundation will offer a new, comprehensive approach to player development, giving all girls selected access to a high-quality training programme, strength and conditioning coaches, access to onsite physiotherapist, nutritional advice and health and wellbeing support. This programme will be offered across the community and measures are in place to ensure it will be accessible and inclusive for all to access elite level training. Groups will also be invited to play in competitive games against other ETC programmes.
What ETC programme offers:
· Up to 1 hours 30mins contact time per week (dependant on age)
· For girls aged 10 – 16
· Centralised venue
· Access to physiotherapist
· Education Workshops
· Bespoke Games Programme (built around grassroots club commitments)
· Opportunities to progress into Shrewsbury Town Womens’ FC
· CPD opportunities for grassroots coaches
