Shrewsbury Town continues it's HAF delivery

Shrewsbury Town Foundation’s Holiday, Activity & Food (HAF), in partnership with Shropshire Council, has been a vital programme to support families across Shropshire.  With a commitment to combating holiday hunger, and ensuring children have access to enriching activities, the programme has successfully reached with 1,034 children from the County.

Adam Jones, Primary Manager at Shrewsbury Town Foundation said, “Leading on the HAF programme is extremely rewarding. Seeing the children have fun, learn new skills, make new friends, and build their confidence is the best feeling ever, as well as supporting parents and families over the whole of Shropshire.”

The HAF programme, which has gained momentum as a vital initiative, goes beyond simply providing meals. It aims to create a holistic experience for children during the holiday periods, addressing the challenges of holiday hunger and the potential learning gap that can occur during extended breaks.

Since the programme started, over 2,500 meals and snacks have been served to children to ensure their nutritional needs are met. The HAF activities have been carefully designed to engage children in a variety of fun and educational experiences, ranging from Sports and Arts to skill and confidence building activities.

Shrewsbury Town Foundation encourages ongoing community support to ensure that the success and growth of the Holiday, Activity & Food programme continues and extends to more children and families in Shropshire.

This Christmas, the HAF programme will be taking place in Shrewsbury, Much Wenlock and Ludlow. Parents/ Carers can access these programmes through the following link: https://foundationstfc.hivelink.co.uk/115/
