Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation Host International Women’s Day Celebration

On Wednesday evening, Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation hosted an event to celebrate International Women’s Day.

The Foundation’s Events & Fundraising Officer Ruth Pemberton organised the night with Sian Brennan-Todd as host.

Guest speakers Gemma Oliver, Sarah Summer, Hollie Jones and Jules McGill provided captivating and inspiring stories to a room full of like-minded women.

The High Sheriff of Shropshire Jane Trowbridge JP started proceedings by handing out High Sheriff Awards to Helen Hall and the aforementioned Gemma.

Shrewsbury Town CEO Liam Dooley was also in attendance and said: “I think it’s so important that the club and the Foundation work together on events like this. From our perspective, women at Shrewsbury Town are an under-represented area of our support base.

“It was brilliant to have so many fantastic, influential women in the room at one time, and another area that we like to try and grow our great work of the Foundation and the reach of the football club, and ultimately our attendance for future generations.”
