Stunning results at the EDP finals!

Our Girls Emerging Talent Centre teams stunned with a set of incredible results at the Elite Development Programme (EDP) National Finals in Brentford!

Shrewsbury Town Foundation’s Girls Emerging Talent Centre teams proved their class, commitment, and character at the recent Elite Development Programme National Finals, delivering unforgettable football against some of the country’s top regional sides.

Our U12s, U14s, and U16s all earned their spot at the prestigious event after progressing through tough regional qualifiers—and they didn’t disappoint on the national stage.

The U12s were thrown into a competitive group featuring Peterborough, Swindon, and Brentford. Despite narrow defeats to Peterborough and Brentford, the team showed real heart, especially in their final game. Trailing 2-0, they refused to give in, staging a thrilling comeback to earn a well-deserved draw. It was a performance full of character and fight, proving that this young group has a bright future.

The U14s were relentless in their efforts, facing tough opposition in Swindon and Brentford. They ran their socks off, giving everything for the badge and finishing an impressive second place overall. Their performances were a credit to the club and the foundation, showcasing not only their talent but their tremendous work ethic and team spirit.

The U16s went head-to-head with Peterborough, Brentford, and Swindon in a thrilling round of fixtures. It all came down to the final game against Swindon—a winner-takes-all decider. Rising to the occasion, Shrewsbury delivered a focused and determined performance, clinching the title with a superb 1-0 win. It was a moment of pure joy and a fitting reward for a team that showed class and composure throughout.

Across all age groups, the Girls ETC teams represented Shrewsbury Town Foundation with pride, passion, and professionalism. Their efforts didn’t just earn results—they inspired everyone watching and highlighted the strength of the girls’ game at the foundation. We’re so proud of our teams in the overall tournament and especially to our U16s for taking home the win, our U14s for coming in second, and our U12s who followed with a 4th place.

A massive congratulations to all players, coaches, and staff involved. This is just the beginning for our talented girls—onwards and upwards!
