Children in Shrewsbury have been treated to an action packed week of football fun at Shrewsbury Town in the Community’s Summer Experience.

On Monday, children took part in ‘World Cup Day’, where they battled it out throughout the day to earn points for their team. They took part in individual challenges, team challenges and also earned points for their teams in the matches.

The children were fortunate to have player visits on Tuesday from new signings Lenell John-Lewis, Arthur Gnahoua and Carlton Morris, who all braved the torrential rain to spend some time with the children.

On Wednesday the children got the chance to test their accuracy on the FootGolf course, which coaches at Shrewsbury Town in the Community created on the Community HUB football pitch, giving children the chance to see if they can transfer their skills from the pitch to the course.

After having the chance to meet some of their heroes earlier in the week, the children were delighted to find out that they were about to meet Callum Roberts, Ryan Sears and Daniel James. The players were quizzed once again by the children and they kindly offered to take part in our tournament, and the children couldn’t wait to show off some of their skills in front of them.

The children also enjoyed a bit of time away from the football pitch, and took part in a FIFA 17 tournament ran by our friends at GAME Shrewsbury.

It’s been a great start, but there is still plenty more to come! If you are interested in finding out more about the Summer Roadshow, be sure to check out the dates on www.officialsoccerschools.co.uk/shrewsburytown or you can email us at [email protected].
